If you want to go with the Cisco, I'd likely get a PIX 506 instead, unless you want
the 515 so you could add a DMZ in the future or you want to add failover
with another 515. The 506 is the same basic box without the slots and failover. We use
506's for our field offices with T1's for basic net access and FO
515's and 520's at our Colo and main office with a site to site VPN to link them.

For that basic a function, I would look at the Watchguard III series. It runs the
exact same software as the X just has only 3 ports instead of a possible
6. There are some other high end functionality in the X series, but it doesn't sound
like you would need them. It would definitely save you some $$$. You
may even be able to get by with as SOHO from Watchguard. Their products are all first
rate and very easy to configure.

I need a new firewall, and analysis comes up with two options (main use is only mail
and local internet surfing, no DMZ on this connection), the watchguard
firebox x1000 and Pix 515... any pro's and cons? I personally like the GUI form
watchguard.
