If not, I'd hate to be one of the 2500. We have specked out the following users: 25 users with 1gig of storage 200 users with 500meg of storage 2500 users with 100meg of storage We are looking at a DELL 6650 with Quad 2.7's, 4gig of RAM on a SAN with 2 73gig 15000rpm drives in a mirror for the logs and 8 146gig drives (and this is the crux of my question) either in a RAID 1+0 or RAID 5. Now I know that RAID 1+0 is better for write performance and RAID 5 write performance leaves something to be desired. My question is using the Outlook 2k3 cached mode would a RAID 5 solution work here? We are nervous about space and don't want to have to redo this configuration if we don't need to. From my understanding the ability to read the database quickly in a non-sequential way is the most important aspect for the .edb & .stm files. Just looking for some reassurance. Thanks again!!
