You can configure your Exchange servers to always force Outlook clients to use NSPI proxy instead of the referral to a GC. This way the Exchange server will talk to the GCs on Outlook's behalf.
Or you can configure the Exchange server to always refer Outlooks to a specific GC. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Fyodorov, Andrey FTL Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 3:09 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Problems with Outlook 2000 to Exchange 2003 Yeah, I meant that too :) But I also wanted to bring up the issue of referral vs NSPI proxy. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Johansson Patrick Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 2:44 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Problems with Outlook 2000 to Exchange 2003 Yeah, but what Andrey probably meant is that can the clients see all the GC:s, DC:s and exchange servers from DNS. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Cook, David Sent: 19. elokuuta 2004 21:39 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Problems with Outlook 2000 to Exchange 2003 All servers are able to contact the GCs in the domain and none of them contain any errors in the event logs Dave Cook Exchange Administrator Creighton University - DoIT 402-280-3824 -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Fyodorov, Andrey FTL Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 12:33 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Problems with Outlook 2000 to Exchange 2003 It is probably the DNS... Maybe these servers for some reason can't locate the Global Catalog? Do the servers that can't resolve the name have any errors or warnings in the event log? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Cook, David Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 12:39 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Problems with Outlook 2000 to Exchange 2003 I have run into a problem with some of my Outlook 2000 clients. I have Exchange 2003 running with 3 front-end servers and 7 backend servers. When I configure the Outlook profile it can not resolve the name on 9 of the 10 servers. The 1 server that does work was the first server in the organization. Any ideas what could cause this?
