Thanks for replying Ed. Yes, two different orgs.
I would take what your point regarding spam if it was an SMTP connection, but X400 connections tend to be "trusted" as they are point-to-point and have to be configured at both ends before they can be utilised - don't they? However, the *sender* address *is* correctly being resolved, it's the other *recipients* that aren't being correctly resolved. Having said that I don't really need the recipients to actually be resolved - I only really need their X400 address to be presented, not the X500 address. Then when they "reply all" the recipients are all valid addresses. I was hoping for similar behaviour to mail sent over SMTP. E.g. If I send to a number of custom recipients that have an SMTP target address, the recipients see all of the other recipients as SMTP addresses, not X500. I guess the difference is that SMTP is sent over a genuine "gateway" rather than just a "connector", if that makes sense? I'll look into "ResolveP2" but I believe that it relates to SMTP only. Thanks anyway. Cheers, Nick. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ed Crowley [MVP] Sent: 23 August 2004 16:44 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Recipient address issue over X400 I surmise that you have two separate Exchange organizations, right? What you're seeing is by design. By default, you don't mail from outside your organization to resolve to names within your organization or else senders of Spam and kiddie porn can masquerade as your internal users. You can change this behavior for SMTP connections by changing the "ResolveP2" registry setting, but I'm not sure whether this also applies to X.400. Search TechNet for this keyword and see if it applies to your situation.
