I think the book Exchange 2000 24Seven is an excellent book. The same
book for 2003 is also good.

Actually, that is all it does. Spoofeddomain.com has a list of permitted
sending domains set up by the owner of that domain. If spammy spoofs the
from domain and uses an trojaned Comcast cable customer's machine to
send with your email server sees that the Comcast machine is not on the
list of permitted froms and rejects.

It does not prevent spam, it takes away one of the tools that spammers
use to send spam and makes it a bit harder for them to do it. That is
good, but it is not a complete solution.

My understanding is that it doesn't prevent spoofing of the From
address, though it would be really nice if I'm wrong about this.

1. Install Exchange 2003 Standard on a second server
2. Do a move mailbox from the Exc2000 to the new Exc2003 server (I think

they call it a "swing"?)
3. Remove Exc2000 from the original server
4. Install Exh2003 server on the original machine
5. Swing the data back to the original server
6. Kill the temporary server

Yes. Don't forget other stuff that might be on that server, such as
connectors and public folders, especially if it's the only server in the
administrative group.

 Hi All:

I am new to Exchange 2000 and only moderately familiar with 5.5 but I
know the differences are significant.

Can anyone suggest a good book or reading material to assist in my
learning? I prefer a Paul Robichaux / Bible type book for Exch2k that is
good for the beginner and experienced as well. Thank you.
