We recently had to do disaster recovery because a misconfigured email
scanner removed 55,000 attachments out of some our mailboxes. Because
it took almost a week for us to get to the point where we could restore
the attachments for the accounts affected, we ended up using the Ex2K3
SP1 new feature for "Recover Mailbox Data". We had to wait a few days
to get a hotfix from Microsoft that allows the new feature to work
against mailboxes that have a comma in the Display Name, but it allowed
us to recover all their messages into a sub-folder of their mailbox.

EXMerge was nice because we could've recovered just their messages with
attachments and replaced the originals in their mailbox but due to many
complications that was not the best option for us.

Subject: Exmerge question

If I have two mailboxes, both with data in them, is it possible to use
exmerge to take the data from one mailbox and "merge" it to the other
with out losing data.
In other words if I take the contents of UserA mailbox, can I put them
into UserB mailbox and when finished UserB has all there original
message plus the messages from UserA

I am assuming this is how it works, but I want to confirm before I try
it
