OK

I feel stupid so I'll share this with everyone in case you run into this
you don't go through the grief I did....

I could use my FE server to log people from another peer domain using an
explicit login (https//servername/exchange/username) but not through an
implicit login

After beating on this for two days, I finally called MS. We checked the
account I was asked to use. Under "User login name (pre Windows 2000)",
I see username-1!!!! I wanted to scream! Once we created a new
account, everything worked fine. Moral of the story - inspect what you
expect. I assumed they did their migration to AD correctly - and I was
wrong.

domains

Ok

Here is where I stand....

I created a virtual directory for my second domain. Here is how it
works now for the second domain...

https//servername/exchange/username (colon eliminated so there is no
link)

Any other combo gives me the errors seen below.

Anyone know how I can get past this hurdle?

Thanks

Russell

Just put the FE and BE in the same doamin ... It doesn't matter if users
are in another domain ...

We have our FE/BE servers in an domain devoid of users , who are in 4
other domains ... Everything works fine (from the exchange POV)

Subject: Problem in setting up a Front End server for different domains

Please excuse the cross post with the E2K group......

Hi everyone

I have two domains that I want to service with one front end server, The
two domains are HG and HI. HG and HI are different administrative
groups and different domains, but they all share the harman.com address.
The front end server is located within the HG domain. Anyone in the HG
domain can use the front end server without any issues when they type in
"https". When people in the HI domain attempt to use the front end
server (again using https), they get the normal security warning and the
authentication box. They put in HI\username and password, and then a
message comes back "The page must be viewed over a secure channel".
Below that is a message that says "the page you are trying to view
requires the use of https in the address". The funny thing is you see
in the address bar "https//servername/exchange" (I took the colons out
to kill the link in the email)!

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? I looked at Google and
TechNet without any success.

Thanks

Russell
