It can scan for virii inside a zip if you configure it to. Attachment blocking will not block executables inside zips, though. We just block the .zip extension due to the recent zip file virii. If anyone wants to send a zip file, thy just have to rename the extension to say, a .piz file. You can also configure it to block files regardless of whether the extension is correct or not.
