I would say your best bet would be to go into ADSIEdit and remove the server
from there.

Subject: Manually Removing an Exchange Server from Organization

Hi all,

One of my exchange server (MS Exchange 2000 SP3 ) within the exchange
organization crashed completely to the extent that we had to format the
drive to reinstall Windows. It was a non critical server so no production
issues because of that, but it left its footprint under my exchange
organization.

I can easily delete this server from the System Manager but there is a lot
of fall back (I realized that when I did that under a test setup) , I was
wondering if there is a documented procedure on how to manually remove an
exchange server from the organization when that server is no more available
?

Thanks in advance for your responses

Kishore
