Turns out it wasn't the patches but most likely cached mode for the OL2003 clients connecting to the EX5.5 server. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834466 Our shop was not involved in testing the OL2003 cached mode portion of our new image or for that fact any client image. Our next meeting over this should be interesting.
