I've actually got two dl/320's that do exactly that (well, not work -
I've not gotten a blue-screen from it). I've written a script to disable
and enable the interfaces 10 minutes after bootup.

The pipelining issue can happen on DL's as well. I install that registry
change on all my servers now - I've experienced it on DL/320's,
DL/360's, and DL/380's; as well as Dell servers - but only when I create
an SMTP connector to another Exchange server. Weirdness.

I love the stuff I read about Dells. It always reinforces my decision to
use
HP/Compaq.

This is a problem with the broadcom NIC's on the 2650's, and as of 5
months
ago Dell still hadn't fixed it. The place I worked at had 40 2650's
running
exchange and 30% of the time when one was rebooted the NIC failed to
work on
boot up, and about 7% of the time the NIC would stop functioning on a
server
out of the blue. I no longer work with that company (thank god) and my
current company uses HP Proliants so I don't know if Dell ever fixed it.
They also had a problem with the broadcom drivers that they did fix, the
older versions caused exchange 2000 to have SMTP problems due to using
pipelining, a driver update was supposed to fix this (I quit immediately
after updating the drivers so I don't know if it actually fixed it).
