Stop putting your FE into the DMZ. Error 503 usually indicates that the FE can't see everything it needs to see on the BE, probably because of the firewall being in its way.

To my test back-end server, however, I get the infamous "HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable" error. I've scouted around, gone through the whole process of rechecking everything from the Front-End and Back-End Topology article, and got nowhere. Inside the network, I can type servername/exchange/username and correctly connect to the right server that hosts the mailbox every time, even if I type the wrong servername, which is expected behavior anyway.
