You shouldn't be deleting it in Exchange 5.5. Why are you? It's not really there, what you should be seeing is a directory entry for the mailbox that's in Exchange 2003.

That's what I used. So, is this the recommended way to migrate from E55 to E2003? Move the mailbox, delete the old one from 55, reconnect the new one, and finally follow the various MS articles to decommission and unplug the old 55 server?
