A 3005 isn't a PIX, it's a VPN concentrator.

What's your VPN product?  Let me clarify, if you are using a Windows
200x
server as your VPN endpoint, then Yes, WINS will pass-through without
issue.

Right. We use a VPN here and didn't even have DNS until about 2 weeks
ago.
All we had was WINS.

broadcasts being present (The VPN settings relating to broadcasts were
irrelevant)

WINS *queries* from the client should work (assuming the correct node
