when Internet mail comes in, it would go through Sendmail <> Spam Filter <>
Exchange 5.5 IMS <> Exchange 5.5/2003 mailbox servers. Trend antivirus and
Veritas BackupExec agent are installed on Exchange servers. It looks to me
that the x-maybe-spam type headers are stripped out when the messages are
transferred from Exchange 5.5 IMS to Exchange 2003 via MTA.

Wei,
I have had a few different non-Exchange hosted SPAM solutions
inserting mail into my Exchange 200x environment and never has
Exchange stripped any x-maybe-spam type headers that are put in by
another MTA. There may be an application that is doing it that is
running on your Exchange 200x servers (or handing off the mail to your
servers), but the Exchange servers them selves do not remove
X-headers. What kinds of software do you have loaded on your Exchange
servers and how is your mail routing between the Internet, your 5.5
environment, and your 2003 environment?
