We're going to be changing DNS Registrars away from Network Solutions as our
many domains come due for renewal over the next few years.
I had been planning on moving us to Domain Direct, but someone else in our
group (a new guy) has recommended a registrar called Hostsphere. I've never
heard of them before.
Does anyone have an opinion about Hostsphere, and about the relative merits
of Hostsphere vs Domain Direct as a DNS Registrar?

I have no knowledge of either, however, I use GoDaddy for my domains and
have previously used other low-cost domain registrars. I've had no problems
with anyone except NetworkSolutions (they forced me to renew one of my
domains early because their system showed it was up for renewal, even though
I still had a year left on the renewal!) Just my 2Â.
