if it's just a member server and it dies you can bring it back up by
doing a /disasterrecovery installation of exchange and doing a restore
from your latest backup (you are backing it up, right?).  If it's a DC
that complicates matters quite a bit as you need to get it back to a
state of being a DC again (I believe).  Also, here is a list of
reasons why you don't want to put exchange on a DC:
