Hi All, we are in the process of moving everything from a 5.5 server (sp4) to E2k3 server (sp1). Both systems run on Win2k (sp4) and are on a LAN in the same Administrative group, so its nothing particularly fancy.
We have already moved most of the mailboxes to the E2k3 server, and the mailboxes and public folders can both be accessed fine from clients. We then ran the script provided by MS to replicate public folders to E2k3 (by adding the E2k3 server to the replicas for the 5.5 public folders). The script worked, and replicas of all the folders appeared on the E2K3 server within a few minutes. At this point however, things started to go pear shaped. Some content from a few folders replicated, however the majority of folders remained empty. We left this for 24 hours, however there were no changes after the initial partial replication finished. Replication times are set for always on both servers. I had to remove the E2k3 server from the replicas list, since users could only see the partially replicated folders on the 2k3 server. Removing the replica lets them see everything on the 5.5 servers properly. I would furnish you with event log details, however both servers have the issue that their event logs will only show the system log when the event viewer is first opened. Changing to application log shows a blank log, and then going back to system log also shows a blank log. Saving the application log and opening it does not help either. If anyone can suggest some idea as to why public folder replication is not working, I would like very much to hear your info. Lastly, I tried removing all replicas from the 2k3 server, and when that had gone through to both servers, i created a replica for 2 very small folders only. Even these 2 folders (one of them with mabey 1kb of info in it) remained empty on E2k3. Thanks in advance for any assistance :D _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
