Subject: Exchange databases on NAS?

A friend has suggested to me that we move all our server data onto a NAS
device with a directly attached backup device. He suggests that the Exchange
databases and logs go there too. The NAS will be running Windows Storage
Server.

Can the Exchange databases/logs be stored on another box that does not have
Exchange server installed?

If so, are there any things to be aware of? I am told it will be cabled with
a Gigabit backplane between all the servers.

He also wants to put SQL databases there too ... anyone know if this is
possible too?!

TIA
Ian
