Depends, what functionality you mean. These days most/all will recognise filename *extensions* in zip files but only some will recognise the TRUE content of a file , no matter what the extension is called.
Simple test is to copy a file that the gateway will block, (say command.com) to a file with an extension that is benign (say command.txt) and email it through the gateway. If it gets through IMNSHO get another gateway. I use mimesweeper. Mimesweeper does it Bill and has done so for the past 8-10 years The rest are just followers.
