I am in the middle of doing this Mixed mode The ADC work greats.. About to do the PFMigrate... I just have to workout my fax software first before the Pfmigrate
Moved NT4sp6-55sp4+ from a ML350 PIII 600/768MB ram/RAID 5 to a ML530 dual 2.4/2GB ram/ RAID 1,1,5 (dual channel) The new exch2k3 server in it's own non DC I did load the Exch tool on the DC so I could get the exchange attributes(tabs) on the users accounts As I moved the users mailboxes on key users I personally ran a Exmerge just in case for each of them But the mailbox move tool works well I wanted to use the ADC and NOT exmerge my people since I need to keep the SIS of exchange If I had exmerged them (and I did think about doing it that way) Mail box sizes would have been huge... I limit my people to 75MB mailboxes and based on my approx user total (~125) and the standard exchange db size of 16GB I run presently at about 8~9GB Priv. Had I used exmerge it would have exceeded the 16GB limit Since when I exmegred some people prior to the move their mailboxes usually doubled or more...losing the SIS yah know.. 2 cents bill -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Matt Sent: Friday, April 22, 2005 12:50 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Moving from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 ... What server to ins tall Exchange 2003 on ? Hello Guys, We are going to be moving to Exchange 2003 and I have a question on what server I should install Exchange 2003 on. Currently we have 2 servers (Windows 2003) setup as the domain controllers and recently we acquired another server so I could migrate to Exchange 2003. I was thinking of getting all the applications that are installed on the 2 AD servers and moving them off to the new server we received, and then installing Exchange on both AD servers. Do you see a problem with installing Exchange on the 2 AD Domain controllers? We currently have about 30 users in exchange, and the AD servers are dual Xeon 2.8 ghz with a gig of ram. We will probably add another 15 users in the next 3 years so the growth is not that big. Or the other option is to install exchange on the new server, but with this option I don't have a second server that I can use to install a secondary exchange server.
