Do you have an Antivirus solution? Is it set up to scan outbound SMTP mail? (is it called Trend ScanMail by any chance?)

What I've managed to discover is that there has to be one message that seems to be stuck that does not show up in the queue. Every time I flush the queue the last message in the SMTP logs seems to this phantom message. Is there a way to delete a SMTP connector connection and have it flush all messages? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris H Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 3:30 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Re: Exchange 2003 message stuck in the smtp queue When this happened to me, I was beating my head against the wall trying to figure it out. Finally, a simple reboot solved the problem! :) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mario Fernandez" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 1:30 PM Subject: RE: Exchange 2003 message stuck in the smtp queue The message tracking looks like this - 18:39 SMTP Store driver: Message submitted from store 18:39 SMTP: Message submitted to advanced queuing 18:39 SMTP: Started message submission to advanced queuing 18:39 SMTP: Message submitted to categorizer 18:39 SMTP: Message categorized and queued for Routing 19:30 SMTP: Message routed and queued for remote delivery 19:30 SMTP: Message submitted to advanced queuing 19:30 SMTP: Started message submission to advanced queuing 19:30 SMTP: Message submitted to categorizer 19:30 SMTP: Message categorized and queued for Routing 19:30 SMTP: Message routed and queued for remote delivery This seems to happen constantly for every meesage for that specific domain. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mario Fernandez Sent: Monday, April 25, 2005 5:45 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Exchange 2003 message stuck in the smtp queue The SMTP queue on our Exchange 2003 SP1 server running on Win2k3, has been acting strange. It seems to keep an active connection to a specific domain (wachovia.com) and any mail going to that domain stays stuck in the SMTP queue and goes nowhere unless I stop the SMTP virtual server. I tracked the messages and they seem to go in loop, it is resubmitted to advanced queuing multiple times. I have already tried flushing the queue manually and also restarted the server, to no help. The one I can't understand is why it maintains an active SMPT connector with wachovia.com even if there are nomessages in queue.
