I always change the internet address anyways. I don't want to give an spammer the chance to hammer that.

Ahh... Thanks for the heads-up. I have my doubts about upgrading to a newer version of Exchange any time soon, but I'll file this in the back of my brain somewhere. :-) -----Original Message----- From: Dave Vantine [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, May 26, 2005 9:30 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Sending [EMAIL PROTECTED]@* messages? Another caveat with 5.5 is to make sure the email address is not everyone@<yourdomain.com>. When migrate to Ex200x it will complain about this as the AD already has an account/email from the security group "everyone" so it becomes unhappy and informs you that it is all ready in use. This was not an issue in 5.5 as it had its own directory Been there done that Thanks -Dave Vantine -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Martin Blackstone Sent: Thursday, May 26, 2005 9:09 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Sending [EMAIL PROTECTED]@* messages? What an idea. I'm surprised nobody has ever thought of that before. :) FYI, make sure you secure this group. We only allow managers and a few other select employee's to send to that list. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of John Aldrich Sent: Thursday, May 26, 2005 5:42 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Sending [EMAIL PROTECTED]@* messages? Well, we have a DL here that we call 'everyone' and when a new user is created (in EX5.5) we just add them to the "everyone" list. Then, when we want to send a message to the entire userbase, we send it to "everyone". :-) -----Original Message----- From: Albert Eddie [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 25, 2005 5:02 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Sending [EMAIL PROTECTED]@* messages? Hello Exchange-L, First time user... Heard you guys were TOUGH on ding-bats who ask without doing due diligence, so give me a sec to don and clear my Asbestos suit. I am looking for a utility that will help me manage (test) exchange lists. Back in the hay-day of the Banyan Mail we used to be able to send a [EMAIL PROTECTED]@* email message, then again we could limit who had access to that ability by group, by org or down to the user level. I have NOT found the same ability in Exchange. We are using Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 Enterprise servers interfacing that with Outlook 2003. YES I know I could Google the utilities, but that does not give me first hand knowledge of the utilities. Looking for something you have used and could recommend. If there is a secret handshake (shortcut) that would allow me to send an email to all the users in a domain I would appreciate that info as well. Sincerest thanks in advance, /ALE Eddie.Albert(at)afrpa.Pentagon.af.mil Mail Serf _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
