Its due to Outlook caching the mailbox ID from an earlier lookup, and then the user's mailbox being deleted and recreated, or possibly moved to another server, database, or storage group. That's my best guess. Delete the outlook.nk2 (nicknames file) from your workstation, close and reopen Outlook, and then give it another shot.
