Is there any rule of thumb for the the maximum number of inbound connections to set for IIS SMTP (or any SMTP server for that matter)? We currently have ours set for 50 and we are getting event log errors stating "maximum number of connections has been reached.". I have read that Windows 2003 supports a maximum of 5000.
