Yes. No problem sending between the two locations across town. Do it all the
time. I have never sent to the person we are trying to reach.

Can you send mail between the two sites?  Do you have a site connector
running?  Do you have a directory replication connector configured and
running?

Ahh... No. It's not. It's nothing to do with us. FWIW, it also appears when
trying to send from Yahoo,  and the person we're trying to send email to
said that another person in another organization has the same problem, so it
appears to be something on his end. However, since we've had similar
problems before, I thought it wise to consider investigating the problem
further on our end. :-)

Believe me, I know :)

What I am saying is that the name of the domain that you are referring to
could be listed as an inbound domain in the routing tab of the Internet Mail
Service on the Exchange server that is not able to send mail.

"Test.com" is not the real domain used in the email. The real email address
was changed to prevent spammers from getting it. :-)

A) this server is set up to use bad DNS servers
B) the "test.com" domain is set up as an inbound in the IMS' routing tab

Hey, everyone...
I'm having a problem here that I'm hoping someone can help me with... We've
got two mail servers. On one, we can send to a particular 3rd-party
(external SMTP account) with no problems. On the other, the same email
address gets an "undeliverable" response within about 30 seconds when
someone on the other server sends that address an email.

i.e: Person on server 1 sends email to address, email goes through. Person
on server 2 sends email to the same address gets an "undeliverable" almost
immediately. This has happened before and it's always been server #2 that's
had the problem.

I did not install/build either server and I have inherited these servers.
Not to mention the fact that I have no formal Exchange training... *sigh*
