But we're at the receiving side of the non-working emails. How do you specify that an SMTP connector receives from only specific outside source?

There is one company that can't get email through to us. Both of us are running Exchange 2003. Neither of us have our email relaying through anything else beyond our Exchange 2003 servers, though both our Exchange servers are behind firewalls, ISA for us and Symantic for the other company. When they try to send to us, all we see in the SMTP logs on our front end server is a bunch of regularly spaced quit commands, as though their server periodically connected, waited for a response from ours, didn't get it, and eventually quit. Their admin can telnet from their server into ours, gets a response, sends a HELO, and everything seems to work fine. Finally, we can send mail to them with no problems. I'm suspicious of something in the firewalls but don't understand how we can connect through telnet, but not through a regular SMTP server connection. What might cause this?
