We have CommVault DataArchiver but have not unleased it yet. I've seen
some of it's settings and know how it works and it seems like it's a
very powerful archiver. We ended up with this product because we use
CommVault as our backup solution it's it was a good 50% cheaper to
continue with their archival product as opposed to using someone elses.

We are saving our data on Apple Xserve RAID on a RAID5 volume. We got a
ridiculously good deal on the Xserve's.

I posted about this the other day and didn't get a response.

I am considering RISS from HP and CommVault DataArchiver with an HP MSA
1500 for low cost storage.

RISS is quite expensive, but is a true hardware solution that tackles
the issue of compliance, although at the moment it just archives
Exchange data. This is a temporary issue as HP plan to archive all data
within the next couple of months.

If compliance is not driving your archiving solution then it might be
overkill to go with RISS. If you are just looking to stop PSTs and old
files on high cost storage, then a software based Data Archiver and a
lower cost storage (HP MSA 1500) would be a lot cheaper.

Anyone recommend some? Or one over another?

We are running Exchange 2000 and moving to 2003 at this end of this
year.

We have 10 sites as well. Hope that's enough introductory information.

Thank you,
