If you look at the qmail logs was the alert that was being sent reusing
the same message ID each time?

Subject: Wierd mail not reaching mailbox

Basically our MD has stock alerts from ADVFN, its worked fine for months
and all of a sudden stopped working.

Put the feelers out for all usual stuff and I can see my
qmail/spamassassin server taking delivery and passing it onto the
Symantec SMTP filter, then SMTP filter passes it onto exchange and it
gets logged as if all was fine.

I thought I'd take out the qmail/SMTP filter out of the equation and put
the incoming port directly to exchange, so mail is now getting delivered
directly to the exchange server. This is an example entry of one of the
incoming mails being delivered:-

2005-08-31 09:35:03 212.161.99.149 mail.advfn.com SMTPSVC1 IISMAIL
10.0.6.49 0 HELO - +mail.advfn.com 250 0 55 19 0 SMTP - - - -
2005-08-31 09:35:03 212.161.99.149 mail.advfn.com SMTPSVC1 IISMAIL
10.0.6.49 0 MAIL - +FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 250 0 42 29 0 SMTP - - - -
2005-08-31 09:35:03 212.161.99.149 mail.advfn.com SMTPSVC1 IISMAIL
10.0.6.49 0 RCPT - +TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 250 0 47 44
0 SMTP - - - -
2005-08-31 09:35:03 212.161.99.149 mail.advfn.com SMTPSVC1 IISMAIL
10.0.6.49 0 DATA - +<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 250 0 123
2637 16 SMTP - - - -
2005-08-31 09:35:03 212.161.99.149 mail.advfn.com SMTPSVC1 IISMAIL
10.0.6.49 0 QUIT - mail.advfn.com 240 78 75 4 0 SMTP - - - -

All looks fine and dandy, only it's not being delivered? All other
mails are being delivered fine to this particular mailbox and I am not
aware of any other problems. I have had the email forwarded to my own
account from ADVFN and it comes through fine?

I look in message tracking between the time frames of the mail being
delivered and according the message tracking centre there is absolutely
no recollection of the mail even entering the exchange server yet its in
the SMTP W3C logs?

I am highly confused.
