It must be due to the access database it uses. If you have time to spend on it and convert its access db into sql db, and modify its scripts (asp and VB) it should be ok. Probably, you should ask Glen Scales if it is ok to do that. Anyway, it works and the speed is not the issue when you need to create messaging reports on daily/weekly/monthly basis. You can make nice charts that present the most active users, domains, highest activity periods...
