Sure... you can spread one partition across multiple drives... It's called
"RAID" :-) Or LVM (Logical Volume Management, I think) in the *nix world.

Off the topic of Exchange.

I was just curious if anyone has try this or this may be a dump questions. 

If you already have a partition on one drive and then add a second drive.
Can you extend the existing partition with the second drive? I don't think
you can.

I had someone ask me this questions too. Can you create one partition on
multiples hard drive? I told them that is not possible. Just want to hear
from other out there.
