Ok. I checked out the logs and I can see things happening for this user,
though I don't really know what it all means. Also, earlier I had
created the web site for the troubleshooter and it couldn't find this
user but now it can. When he gets in, I'll ask if emails are showing up
automatically.
Presuming they are, is there a specific way to remove these attributes?
Reason I ask is because we're trialing a new phone to see how it works
compared to our Treo's and Goodlink. He's going away next week and I'm
going to use it next. I just don't want the Exchange mobility subsystem
thinking there's one phone for two users. Is there a link that explains
the W3SVC1 logs for active sync?

everything starts in EAS land...

The phone has to do an initial manual sync (or scheduled sync) to get
the settings back to Exchange. Exchange (the mobility subsystem, really)
stores those in a hidden folder of the user's mailbox. They are examined
whenever email is received for the mailbox.

Good question,  probably, when you config activesync on the device to
"deliver as they arrive" you need to do a manual sync to get those
settings back to the server.

Check the trouble shooting section , there is a little utility there.

Do you know if the emails are being sent by exchange? Are they going out
the IMS service (Use the message tracing center, or if you have a
exchange email forwarding to an smtp gateway, check the logs at the smtp
gateway. This will tell you if you have a problem with exchange or
external to exchange.

on the device you have run up activesync/options/server tab/options
button/device address button and it shows the correct text message email
address?

Unfortuantely for me my cellphoen provider does not provide such
functionality, so I can't test this for you (I'm hanging out for devices
that will support the IP Push rather than SMS push - which I assume to
be WM5.0 with feature pack?)

Hi,

Playing with activesync and getting the emails to show up automatically.
I've upgraded to SP2 for Exchange 2003 but the new emails don't show
automatically. Is there some good docs out there for setting this up? In
activesync on the phone, it's set to 'as items arrive' and I've
specified the SMS account for it to be sent to. On the Exchange side,
it's set to 'enable user initiated' , 'enable up-to-date notifications
via SMTP and text' and 'enable direct push via HTTP(s). Are there other
steps I'm missing? Thanks in advance.
