Ya, for this last round of users I moved I was told that they don't use
the Public Folders. Now I need to find 100gb of disk to replicate
because this one 5.5 site has no intentions in migrating anytime soon.

I don't know if it's really by design, but my observation is consistent
with yours. I always advise my customers to replicate public folder
content before migrating mailboxes to Exchange 2003.

Subject: PF Issues

Exchange 2003, mixed w/ 5.5, 5 sites, 1 org

I've got a server in one of the still pure 5.5 sites (Site A) that
houses a crap load of public folder information. I have a bunch of users
in another site (Site B) that are all migrated to Exchange 2003 (there's
still one last
5.5 server but nothing is on it). In the 5.5 world, we used PF Affinity
to just point the users to where to find the PF info they wanted so that
I didn't need a replica in Site B. Now the users in Site B can't see the
PF info in Site A until I get the particular folder they want to look at
replicated to my server. Will this always be the case? Can't I tell me
server where to look? I tied PF referrals but it doesn't seem to help.
Do I have to replicate until Site A's PF's are moved onto 2003?

Thanks in advance,
Tony
