I understand that. That's why it's disabled now. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Fyodorov, Andrey (Citco) Sent: Monday, April 03, 2006 10:23 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: MTA/routing issue with new server
But if you have a native Exchange 2003 now, you shouldn't be getting any SRS. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pat Richard Sent: Sunday, April 02, 2006 10:58 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: MTA/routing issue with new server I can't say this box was never a 5.5 box. I can find out. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Fyodorov, Andrey (Citco) Sent: Sunday, April 02, 2006 6:30 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: MTA/routing issue with new server I think it is strange that SRS was running on your server. I don't think that it is directly related to your mail flow problem, but normally when you install Exchange 2003 in the organization that doesn't have any Exchange 5.5, SRS doesn't get enabled. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pat Richard Sent: Saturday, April 01, 2006 2:57 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: MTA/routing issue with new server Environment: old server: Windows 2003 Standard; Exchange Stan. 2003 SP2. Inbound SMTP goes through a filtering app, then on to this box. new server: Windows 2003 Standard; Exchange Ent. 2003 SP2 on brand new Dell hardware both servers are physically connected to the same switch, and are in the same administrative group. Exchange environment is native mode. The new server was added yesterday. No errors in the event logs. I created two test users, and put their mailboxes on the first store of the new server. In OWA (as either new user), I can send mail to both internal (users on the other server) and external users without problem. However, I cannot RECEIVE email from either internal or external users. When I look in the queues on the old server, I see an SMTP queue for mynewserver.mydomain.org, with messages in it. This has me confused. Note: There were some KDC errors on the old server about a duplicate account with the same principal name, and I've resolved that. There were also some errors about the SRS not running right. Since there hasn't been 5.5 in this environment in a while, I just disabled the SRS service and stopped it. No other issues that I've noticed. I just stepped into this environment yesterday to do the migration. I'm not sure where to start with this (although I'm pretty sure the problem is on the old server). What logging should I turn up to see what's going on? Eventually, we'll be migrating all users to the new server and decommissioning the old one. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
