You missed the fact that the data could reside outside of your reach on a
home computer or a server that isn't in your reach. Email tends to have the
properties that there is a copy and that one might be in the posession of
the party that is dragging you to court :)
Plus keep in mind that email send to this list is being archived and
available on the internet so the actions of destroying evidence are being
recorded.

I have Symantec Mail Security (not by choice), and what you ask would be
easy to do with it. I'm pretty sure GFI Mail Essentials can do it, and
there are probably many other third-party apps that can do it. The only
free way I can think of would be a script running under an account with
permissions on all of the boxes.

I have been given about 20 keywords, and the task of deleting all
messages in each of our exchange servers that contain any of these
keywords.
The ExMerge utility would be perfect, except it will not search the body
of a message. I need to search the body, subject, to, and from fields.
