It sounds like you have multiple problems Don. You should send test emails to the internal email addresses you are having trouble with from free web accounts gmail/hotmail/yahoo and your home ISP accounts so you can see if they work and if they don't then at least you can post the error messages here, because at the moment without the exact error message our advice will be highly variable. If the test emails do work, then you may have a variable DNS resolution problem.
You need to see if the NDR comes from your exchange server or your ISPs mail server A quick look at your dns records from www.dnsstuff.com shows a few thinks that may be of a concern http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/lookup.ch?name=satake-usa.com&type=ALL satake-usa.com. has a huge number of entries. I would of thought 1 was sufficent? ns1.satake-usa.com. has a huge number of entries. I would of thought 1 was sufficent? But perhaps here your dns provider is round-robining, but it also means all of the dns servers at those ip addresses must have the same information You have 2 MX records satake-usa.com. MX IN 3600 mail.satake-usa.com. [Preference = 60] satake-usa.com. MX IN 3600 ns1.satake-usa.com. [Preference = 10] which means in most cases all mail to you will go via ns1.satake-usa.com. which is inherently interesting as you have 8 ip resolutions for that domain name. again perhaps your mail provider is round robining their mail servers this may mean the problem you are having with receiving emails may be at your providers end as it has to clear them first and if they are providing some sort of filtering for you, the filtering may be the problem. mail.satake-usa.com looks to be your exchange server? My suggestion would be to change your dns records (it will take about an hour for senders to get the new preference) so that for a few days so the only mx record is the exchange server. If your problems go away then your dns/mail provider is likely to be the problem HTH Dean -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Don Bruess Sent: Friday, 29 September 2006 06:37 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Why send it back We have Win2003/SP1 and running exchange 2003 I have several address which when sent mail from the outside by some companies (not all companies) get NDR saying no such address. I examine the address and it is the correct address. I had the sender type in the address and use the reply to and both get kicked by our exchange server as no such address. I am also getting a lot of reports from outsiders saying they sent e-mails but we never receive. I have checked the logs and it does not show we rejected it. Any ideas?
