We have not been on 5.5, for so long, I have forgotten.

I did cranked up the old box to look.  And we have 8 days of logs.

I worked on this too, I ended up doing the simplist technique.  Run
xcopy to another directory and delete what you don't want from there.
If you run it once a day, you have the current day's log archived by the
second day.
