If they're in another Administrative Group, then they'll need a copy of the Global Address List, if they do not have their own OAL generator set to their site. I'm assuming the Default Offline Address List generator is set to a server in your site. You have two options. Create their own or give them a replica of the Offline Folder. I prefer the second option, but the other people in the other Administrative Groups I work with don't...
In Exchange System Manager: Go to your Folders in your site, right-click and select View System Folders. Find Offline Address Book, expand it and right-click and select Properties on the Default Address List. Go to Replication tab and add a replica to the other Administrative Group's mailbox server. The other way is to create another OAL generator under Recipients -> Offline Address Lists. Right-click and select new Offline Address List and select the server you want to generate this in that Administrative Group. ----------- Hello, folks. I hope the new year has begun kindly for all of you! Meanwhile, back in the salt mines, it seems that the folks that I moved from the Exchange 5.5 server to their brand-new Exchange 2003 server are unable to see the GAL when working in Offline mode. They are all using Outlook 2003 in cached mode, and I've been searching Google and Experts-Exchange in vain for the reason why. There are three oddities happening, all of which seem to be related: 1. When trying to do Tools/Send/Receive/Download Address Book they don't get the option to download the \Global Address List, as the rest of us do, but instead the only option they get is "Download Offline Address Book List" 2. It's causing them to be unable to access the Global Address List when working offline. 3. I think it may be related to the error 0X80040119 when sending and receiving email that they are all experiencing. Yet, the email is sent and received just fine. They are in their own site/Administrative Group which is different from us. We are all using Exchange 2003 SP2. Theirs is fully-patched, whereas our servers are a few months behind in Windows patching.
