Everything is tunneled through SSL. How safe do you feel with SSL? By nature of policy, I only support company owned or company adopted (we basically "own" it for duration of employment), so I don't have it on foreign machines outside of my control.
If an unprotected machine gets a virus that spread by e-mail, just because your connection is made over SSL doesn't mean it will prevent the virus from spreading. I tread RPC over HTTPS connected Outlook clients as if they are just like a MAPI client on the local network when it comes to security of the machine. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dandy, Jim Sent: Monday, January 29, 2007 3:11 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RPC over HTTPS security I'm wondering how risky from a security standpoint RPC over HTTPS is? I've done a lot of searching on the web and I've found little that would indicate significant risk. If you use it, do you put restrictions on which computers can have access through RPC over HTTP? For example, you may only allow company owned and managed computers to use it. Thanks for your help.
