Hello esteemed colleagues,
Cutting to the chase, when I send an email message from an external
account to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I get an immediate hard
bounce with an error "550 5.1.1 User unknown" This is the behavior I
expect.
If I send the same message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] the message
bounces back and forth between our Exchange server and our external
anti-SPAM proxy (MX Logic, provided by Mailstreet), and after an hour or
so, gets returned with this error:
"Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, because the
message was forwarded more than the maximum allowed times. This could
indicate a mail loop."
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Yet, all email for both orgs goes through Mailstreet before it gets to
our Exchange server. And, in ESM Default Recipient Policies I have the
checkbox checked on "This Exchange Organization is responsible for all
mail delivery to this address" for both @concordiatech.org and
@lcms.org. (I might add that @concordiatech.org is the default SMTP
address for the Exchange organization.)
So, why don't I get a hard bounce on bad lcms.org addresses, as I would
expect to get?
