We have just implemented a compliance-type product that uses Exchange Journaling. I have a problem because I have mail that is being deposited directly in the Junk E-mail folder of the journaling mailbox, and the software doesn't pick it up.
We use an older version of MailEssentials on the perimeter, and it is set to put spam in the Junk E-mail folder directly. It is my belief that journaling is mimicking this behavior (although I leave room for the notion that there is something else at work here). I do not believe that I can do anything at the MailEssentials level, because it is running on a different server (perimeter) and the mail isn't actually directed at this mailbox. Outlook spam filtering is turned off, BTW. Can anyone confirm that would be standard behavior for journaling (it puts the message in the same folder that it goes in for the recipient), and, if so, possible solutions to make all the mail go into the inbox? Alternatively, a method for automatically moving the messages would be welcome. It does not appear I can use a mailbox rule or recipient policy to do this (move from Junk to Inbox). Any help is greatly appreciated.
