How long is a piece of string? Your director is possibly not providing the right solution... -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chinnery, Paul Sent: Tuesday, 17 July 2007 05:29 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: PerfectDisk ROFLMAO Well, I'm not going to go there. But, now I have to admit having to do a "DOH!." When I replied to Howard's message I completely forgot to add that Event Log shows this warning every once in a while: "The virtual memory necessary to run your Exchange server is fragmented in such a way that performance may be affected. It is highly recommended that you restart all Exchange services to correct this issue." You'll need to do some proper analysis to determine where the performance may be suffering. 5) Your director is an idiot. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chinnery, Paul Posted At: Monday, July 16, 2007 12:26 PM Posted To: Exchange Mailing List Conversation: PerfectDisk Subject: RE: PerfectDisk Sometimes when someone clicks on an email to open it, there is some latency. The director said that when he emails an attachment >5 meg, he says it'll hang (but this is not an everyday occurrence). What "performance" problems have you noticed? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chinnery, Paul Sent: Monday, July 16, 2007 11:08 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: PerfectDisk We're running Exchange 2000 on a W2K server. My director pointed me to PerfectDisk by Raxco as a possible tool to "speed up" Exchange response. I was wondering if anyone is using this product and can let me know if it's worthwhile to look into it. As I noted, E2K STD with program files on C, logs on D and mailbox store on E (attached to SAN drive) and about 150 mailboxes.. I don't think defrag is an issue as much as we're running anti-virus and anti-spam on the same server.
