there is one way to delete an Autocomplete entry, and that's to Delete it
while it's highlighted in the popup. But it's not a solution that scales
very well -- even my experienced users with that problem are confused by it
and I have to do it for them.
BTW, are Autocomplete entries the same as are in the NK2 file?

It sounds, from the comment about the old name popping up whenever
someone sends her a message, that you're actually talking about the
Exchange directory name popping up as part of the autocomplete offered
up by Outlook 2003. Deleting the X500 address won't stop that from
happening. AFAIK nothing will, short of deleting and recreating the
mailbox.
By the way (anyone), does Outlook 2007 do that too?

So basically there's no easy solution for this from the server
(AD/Exchange) side?

Yes, unless they ignore it or clear their nickname caches.

One more thing:
If I remove that x500 address from the user's account in AD, then won't
the
users who still have it cached, have trouble sending to her mailbox?

Whoever added these addresses must have done so to ensure message
replyability, validity of Outlook contacts, and personal address book
entries when the mailbox was migrated or renamed. If nobody will be
replying to old messages sent when the mailbox's legacyExchangeDN or
Exchange 5.5 DN was one of those two addresses, then you're safe to
remove
them. If you have no compelling reason to delete them, then it won't
hurt
anything to leave them alone except that it increases the size of your
Active Directory by a few bytes.

Subject: Removing X500 Address
I have a user with multiple X500 Email Addresses on her AD account, as
following:
/O=XYZ/OU=CARNEGIE/cn=Recipients/cn=JSmithJones
/O=XYZ/OU=CARNEGIE/cn=Recipients/cn=JSmith
The 1st one has her last name as her maiden name plus her last name from
previous marriage (SmithJones). The 2nd one has her maiden last name.
She wants the 1st one removed.
Will removing that X500 address and leaving the other one, create a
problem?
Is there such a thing as primary & secondary(ies) X500 addresses?
TIA
Alex
