Were using Forefront Security for Exchange, and these emails are blocked at the Edge Transport Server, with a 99.5% accuracy of no false positives, so it's not a huge deal. We just want the option to recover something in the event that one of the .5% false positives belongs to an exec. That's IF they call, we aren't monitoring the mailbox. Were trying to get away from Public Folders since we just moved to Exchange 2007, and that tends to be the way Microsoft is eventually headed. :)

Auto deleting old stuff in PFs is quite effective. But the underlying problem with a rescued, forwarded false positive is that now the user cannot do a straightforward reply to the message -- in many cases he won't even have the sender's SMTP address. Wouldn't it be better to let mailboxes or server-based anti-spam handle this? ----- Original Message ----- From: "McCready, Robert" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 19, 2007 7:26 AM Subject: AutoArchive Do you have to login to actually have auto-archive work? I setup a mailbox to autodelete everything older than 5 days, but it never works. This is just an email that we have spam forwarded too for 5 days, just in case we need to release a "False Positive". If I wait a week or two to check it, NOTHING has been autoarchived, even though I've set the preferences globally and on each folder to autodelete without saving. (Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2003). Perplexing. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
