If you want to do it IMMEDIATELY and behind the scenes, then use MFCmapi. There is an "empty folder" menu item. Very very fast.

I tried to make this fly on my own ... my rick-foo and Google-foo have failed me. My last PS command attempt (against my own mailbox as a test) was: Get-Mailbox rberry | Export-Mailbox -DeleteContent -IncludeFolders "\Deleted Items" But that fails, and was admittedly a bad guess as proper syntax. I have a user on another Exch2010 server that has 2.5 million items in their Deleted Items, I'd like to clear it behind the curtains. Also have considered using Retention Tags/Policies to do it. Right-click/empty via GUI in Outlook or OWA isn't working for me. I'll gladly pay you Wednesday for a hamburger today if anyone has a hint for me ... -Rick
