As a colleague would say, oof. On the training aspect, spin up some VMs and have some fun. I would definitely advise that if you're doing the 2003 --> 2010 migration yourself so you'll have seen the process firsthand. None of it is hard, but it's definitely worth the time spent doing it at least once or twice in a virtual lab.
