We are allowing Exchange to automatically choose which database that a mailbox
is added to when a new mailbox is created. Once a database reaches a certain
size, we set the "IsExcludedFromProvisioning" so that mailboxes are no longer
added. This makes it far simpler for our administration team as they no longer
have to worry (or decide) about which database to place a new mailbox.

We are starting to evaluate the use of Exchange 2010 personal archives. If we
were to use Exchange personal archives, we would be building out a new,
separate archive-only DAG and use less expensive disk to host the databases.

Is there a way to have Exchange automatically create the archive on the new
archive-only DAG such that our administration team wouldn't have to select a
specific database?

Additionally, if that is possible, how do we keep new mailboxes from being
automatically provisioned on the archive-only DAG?

Thanks.
