We had a single DAG DB failover to our DR site (i.e. a different AD site), and all the EAS users homed on that DB reported connectivity errors on their phones. They all were able to connect to Outlook, and the ones that were connected during the failover were prompted to close and reopen Outlook (i.e. the DAG AllowCrossSiteRPCClientAccess = $False). I thought I understood how this worked, but maybe I don’t fully. We operate a hub and spoke architecture. All the Exchange servers are either in AD site 1 or an AD DR site with users scattered across AD sites 1 thru 8 (i.e. no users in DR Site). What should I be researching/checking to explain, and then correct the EAS disconnect while the DAG DB is active at the DR site?
The RPC Client Access logs in Site 1 have numerous "ownerlogon … rop::WrongServer" entries during the time that the DAG DB was active at DR. the environment is Exchange 2010 SP2 RU3, with a CAS Array in AD site 1. The DR Site has a separate single DAG and CAS servers. There is a PF DB on one DAG server in Site 1 and one PF DB on the DAG server at the DR site. Thank you for your time and effort. Keith D.
