I can only put 5.7.1 - 5.7.999 in the enhanced box. In actions, I can't also
add delete the message. It errors out that if delete is checked it can be the
only selection marked.
I mean it works if I want to blast whomever with all the header info. Shouldn't
be this hard. Lots of google hits, but really nothing about clean responses
back.
Seems like an auto response from the mailbox itself is the only way to do this.

You were so close!!

Select 'send rejection message to sender with enhanced status code'. Then in
the box below is a clickable message 'rejection message' hit that and you can
put the message in there and put in a bogus 'enhanced status code'. And then I
would assume you want the message deleted? Select that box.

And give us hints next time on what version of exchange you are using.
I laugh every time someone gets asked that same thing and I go and leave it
off. :)

In the transport rule the only option is to send a rejection with the 5.7.1
I do have a mailbox created. Is that the only way to send a "clean" response?

thx

If there is a mailbox for that address, an auto reply on the mailbox. If no
mailbox on that address a transport rule. Don't freak over transport rules if
you have never used them. They are glorified outlook rules. Same
concept...looks darn near the same as you go through them.

And give us hints next time on what version of exchange you are using.

I have been told to create a no reply address for our HR dept.
Easy enough.
How do you create a nice clean response message instead of the 5.7.1 rejection
screen full of junk?
