Hi There, Wee have been contacted by someone whose single exchange server has died. It is running on a hyper-v host,
The VM and VHD were o-n the hosts RAID 5 set and it suffered a 2 disk failure. They have a backup of Exchnage from the night before, from their cloud back up service, this backup service does not have C; Program files etc, but it seems to have the files before the failure with DB's logs etc, and as its Exchage 2010 I have not done a single server restore before. Is it a case of 1. set up new VM with the same name as the old one 2. Install Exchnage 2010 again with the same name 3. REstore the backups. Is there any prep I have to do before the reinstall, such as remove server names from AD etc, or just leave it and install a new VM with teh same name and carry on?
